During this lockdown we wanted to give something back to people and to sprinkle a little positivity into their lives. We decided to carry out a ‘Free Prize Giveaway’.
For 6 weeks we are giving out our Head Coach, Darren Ward’s Football shirts he has worn for the 1st team of different Football Clubs Darren has played for. All the information is on our social media if you would like to get involved and it is a great free prize for football fans and so easy to enter.
We have been adding to our training sessions on line every week for people to use whilst they are missing out on crucial football training. If your child needs some football development or you want to add some purposeful training into their football please check out our videos https://linktr.ee/dwsoccerschool. There are many different videos all offering something for your child whichever level they may be at.
If you have any questions regarding any of the videos we encourage people to get in touch and are always happy to help: [email protected]
We also want to mention the importance of moving your body for your physical and mental wellbeing even if it is for a small amount of time. Try and get outside for a short time each day.
What a start to the year with another lockdown and another postponement for our training once more!! During these times you really have to dig deep and make the most of the time you have which is what we are doing at DWSS.
We are working hard behind the scenes to expand our services to the community. We are looking to add another ‘Platform’ and ‘Development’ training session during the week with the demand for these increasing. This will enable us to offer our services to more children who are looking to develop their football and also enable us to offer additional days of the week training for our existing customers.
We our also looking at being more environmentally friendly and have an exciting venture we are working on. We will let you know more about this in due course.
We have our online sessions for all children who are missing out on their current football to use at home as well as our other support services. For more information just click on the link https://linktr.ee/dwsoccerschool We will be adding another training session next week to our online library.
During these unprecedented times we feel it is important to give something back and we are kicking off on January 17th with our ‘6 Week Free Giveaway’ of football memorabilia from Darren Wards past football clubs.
If you do not already please follow our social media links and you can see the full details on there on how to win some fantastic prizes!!
As always if you have any questions about your football please do get in touch, we will be more than happy to help.
We are back after the 2nd lockdown and we are so excited to be back in action, continuing to help players develop their football technique, confidence, physical activity amongst so many more benefits.
We have been working hard behind the scenes to improve our service even more to our customers. Just one of the improvements is our 2 reviews per year on request which is great way to see exactly how your child has improved and what they need to work on to continue their football development.
Our new services at DWSS are another support service available to not just children but adults too. Our 1-2-1 training sessions and our “Talk Football With DW” is another way to help adults get moving and keep connected during what can feel isolated times. These services are becoming very popular which is great to see, for more information just click here https://linktr.ee/admin
We have been in contact with the local schools and will be offering ‘FREE’ after school training to the school to help support those players who have missed out on crucial football training and also introduce it to new players who may be interested. We feel this is so important right now more than ever to help support the community where we can and cannot wait to get started next year with this.
We have been planning our Christmas Camps too which will be running on the 21st and 22nd of December and already the bookings are coming in thick and fast. We have festive football fun, games, free prize draws and so much more planned for our players this year, the link is here if you would like to book https://linktr.ee/admin we hope to see you there!!
We enter November with the 2nd lockdown ahead of us and having to close DWSS once again!
We use this time to our advantage and look at what we can offer to help support the community during these challenging times.
We have updated our ‘FREE’ online training sessions and added two new videos for players to use whilst they are unable to carry out they’re football. We cover a range of topics so there are plenty of training sessions to choose from and use. We have added our “Home Training Pack” which you can purchase on our ‘Merchandise’ Page. The pack contains a Mitre football, 10 cones (5 different colours), DWSS drawstring bag and water bottle. These packs are great for players to use at home, take to the park or even on holiday so you can practise your football anywhere!!
We have launched our ‘Adult 1-2-1’s‘ so you can carry on your fitness outdoors whilst gyms are closed. It is a great way to continue with your fitness and learn football/lifestyle tips and get taught the professional way by Darren Ward.
We have added our “Talk Football With DW” to our services available to Players, parents, fans, coaches or anyone else who has an interest in football at any level to speak with Darren Ward exclusively on a range of football/lifestyle related topics. Now more than ever it is so important to stay connected and help support well-being and mental health. The awareness of this is growing in the professional game and we would like to offer the benefits of this support through Darrens 20 plus year professional football career where he can offer crucial advice away from being associated/signed at a professional football club.
We are always looking to improve our services to our players and with the introduction of ‘Top Trainer’ each month and term we feel it is important to acknowledge the players who consistently give it they’re all. Players who show they are developing alongside our values and ethics.
We are in our second ‘FREE’ Monthly Prize Draw and will be announcing the winner at the end of this month. Rupert won a ‘DW Beanie’ for September and it is perfect for this time of year.
We welcome some new staff on board DWSS and would like to welcome Lillie who is our new ‘Coaching Assistant’ and Laura who is soon to join us a ‘DWSS Coach’. As we grow it is important the players continually get quality training and this something we are very mindful of which is why our DWSS team is growing to be able to provide the best training in Hitchin!!
We will be announcing some EXCITING NEWS at the end of this month……so keep an eye out on our social media for this!!!!
It is great to be back at our term-time training and helping provide a safe environment for our players where they can be outside, running around, learning, developing their football technique and having fun.
At this current time things are very different and for us as an organisation we want to be able to provide a healthy, positive environment to help support our players.
We have had a fantastic reaction to our training which is great to see and have had many players join DWSS. To help develop these players and fulfil their potential with our experience and knowledge is a pleasure. We can help create a clear pathway for our players to reach their goals!
Some of our players who have been with us from the start are really developing their football technique and we have seen them progress in their own football journey through going into the JPL and some of our female players being accepted into further football associated organisations.
We look forward to what the future may hold and hope to see more young players join DWSS.
We are preparing for our term-time training comeback and we are looking forward to seeing lots of our players and new players join us in September.
During the Summer we have had a lot of interest in DWSS, slowly the word is spreading about how we can help support and develop players with purposeful training and show them the pathway if they wish to take football to a higher level.
We have been spending time developing ourselves over the Summer, with coaches training days, attending online courses and reading up on various football related topics to continually improve our service to our players.
We look forward to seeing many of you come September.
We are really pleased to be back and have been so pleased with the huge demand for DWSS 1-2-1, 2-2-1 and 5-2-1- bespoke sessions. All these sessions are coached by Darren Ward and with the years of experience behind him he can help take the players to the next level and show them a clear pathway to achieve their goals.
The feedback from some of these players has been amazing and to help support and develop them in the right way and to help fulfil their potential in a healthy environment is just fantastic.
Due to the success of these sessions we are going to look at integrating these into our week, come Autumn Term.
We have been really pleased with how training has commenced with the safety guidelines we have in place and are very grateful to our customers and players for taken on board this measures and abiding by them.
We are hoping the Government will ease the lockdown towards the end of the month so we can start training the players again.
During the current situation we have made the most of it, continually educating ourselves in our industry. We will be using this information to help improve the players that join us and help improve their football and self-development.
We look forward to seeing you all soon and look forward to new players joining DW Soccer School and becoming part of the journey. Whether you are new to football or playing at a high standard we can cater for you needs!
As we continue on through these times we hope to see some light at the end of the tunnel alongside many of you. We continue to carry on our football training and giving tips and advice to our customers and many more who wish to carry on with their training.
For our fundraising event for HCF we raised nearly £900 through our ‘Kick-Up Challenge- with more than 14,000 kick-ups taken. We are so proud of everyone who took part and I’m sure this money will help those most vulnerable in the COVID-19 crisis.
We are looking forward to carrying out our ‘Online Soccer Camp’ over the half-term as this is when we would normally be taken our ‘Soccer Camps’. We hope many of you can join us over 3 days and take part in the fun training. There is also chance to win one of our DW Soccer School caps which is our newest addition to our merchandise range and just perfect for this hot weather.
We look forward to when we can start our training again and look forward to seeing our customers. In the meantime make the most of this time and more importantly stay safe.
Ex Millwall FC professional – Over 500 professional appearances
“I’ve known Darren for nearly 20 years and it’s great to see he’s giving the wealth of professional experience he has back into the local community to support the next generation of aspiring players”.
Former Tottenham and England International Player
“I was fortunate enough to play with Darren at Millwall and Swindon, he is one of the most professional players I have come across. He is a real student of the game, a player who has played at the highest of levels and able to carry on late into his 30’s. Fantastic character to be around and someone who I learnt so much from, not only on the pitch but also off it”.
“Darren has been coaching our son for the last 2 seasons, he has helped him develop his skills on the pitch, as well as personally off the pitch. Darren has a vast amount of knowledge not only about football, and has given us guidance and ideas to support our son in his everyday life. Darren is a great mentor and coach not only to my son but the whole team. He is always encouraging and positive, and tries to get the best out of each boy in every session."
Former Swindon Old Town Boys Manager
“Giving all of Darrens experience within the game, it showed very quickly the impact that his vast knowledge base would have on the capability of the team. Within weeks we were far more competent on the ball and lots of players had a much better understanding of what part they had to play within the team. Cant recommend Darren more highly for his competency, creativity and professionalism."
Co-Founder of Football For Fathers
“Darren is an accomplished football industry professional, ex-Premier league player and respected UEFA coach. DW Soccer School offers something different; all round development of our young people, from technical football skills through to 'helping them be the best they can be' as a person in a supportive and fun environment"
